Controversy and intrigue may surround the topic of eroticism and nudity. It is quite the lucrative business. There’s an audience, and for those who corner the niche in the SM market, infamy occurs. Sadomasochism is not for the fainthearted and it has carved a place in Japanese society.

An Interview with Kumiko Ibaraki, Author of The Worry Free Kitchen

I can never claim to be a cook, however one of my favorite type of books to browse through are Asian cuisine cookbooks. Last year I was able to purchase The Worry Free Bakery, so this year I was quite happy to learn of Kumiko Ibaraki, the author was releasing a second translated cookbook of The Worry Free Kitchen. She was also in New York around the period of Book Expo, so I was able to get an interview with this Japanese author/dietician/teacher on Thursday with interpretation from Ioannis Mentzas, Vertical‘s Editorial Director. This is a Saturday and Sunday event, that served as a fundraiser and showcase of the Museum’s accomplishments for the year. At this event, there were exhibitors, and panels. I wasn’t able to go to any panels, but I was around the exhibitor’s room, so these are pictures I took from Saturday. Continue reading “MoCCA 2011 – Saturday Here I am!”

NYC’s Rainbow Book Fair

During the last weekend of March on the 26th, I was definitely in high spirits for the winter to over. The weather was certainly partially paying attention to my wishes, since it was a sunny yet brisk day. I rarely am around the West Village, so the commute there was pretty interesting. You have to love or hate the weekend transit changes that occurs, it is mostly an annoyance for some routes. Continue reading “NYC’s Rainbow Book Fair”
